Limited Edition Pins on Disney Store in 2017

One of the best things with the online Disney Store is the exclusive merchandise you can't find any other place. This includes Limited Edition pins which are only released limited worldwide.

2017 was a year with a lot of new pins from Disney Store.

This entry includes all pins that have been released between January and December 2017. So if you've missed some of them or just want to see them all, you can look through the entry here.

What's a pin?
A pin is a little metal plate with a pin on back. It can be used to be set on clothes or you can just collect them. It's your own choice. On each metal plate there's a print that represent a movie, characters or something else.

What means Limited Edition?
Disney is very happy for these two words "Limited Edition", because they make so many products and not all can be on the market at same time. This also offers the costumers and collectors to find rare products that only can be found in a small amount. Limited Edition or shortened as LE means it's limited to a specific group, in this case it's countries.
We can try an example: the item says it's available to 300 in Europe and 1200 worldwide. This means there's an amount of 900 to the rest of the world.

About every other week Disney Store in Europe offer a Limited Edition pin to their costumers. These pins are only available through Disney Store's website and not in store.

The list below consist of images from each pin released in 2017. I'll not write anything unless some important things have happened in the period. Please note one of the images is in Danish because I forgot to get it from the English website. :)

The banner for the pin set with Minnie Mouse was changed few days after the pin set was revealed. The banner was revealed on 2nd February, 2017 but was changed on 6th February, 2017.

The Valentine's pin with Mickey and Minnie should have been released on 7th February, 2017 however, the pin was postponed to be released on Valentine's Day 14th February, 2017.

The pin with the Three Little Pigs was a part of Disney Storybook Classics Collection that was released between August 2016 and July 2017. The collection included a monthly release of an ornament with a pin (each sold separately). The pin with the Three Little Pigs was the only pin as part of the collection to be shown as a banner of upcoming pins.

The ice cream pin set with Tsum Tsums was finally released on 5th April, 2017 according to the Danish Disney Store website. The pin set should've been released in December of 2016 but was never released without any reason. The price as stated when it was revealed was the exact price when released. Read more here.

This pin of Grumpy was released during the celebration of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' 80th anniversary, which Disney Store held in August 2017. The pin was released on 1st August along with the Art of Snow White pin set. The price was £9 on the English website.

The two pins above showing buildings from The Walt Disney Company had probably some troubles when release. In fact, the pins should have been switched release date without notice*

The price on the three pins above was increased with £1. The priced didn't increased in Denmark. This will probably means pins in the future with release on the English website will be in £10 instead.

In 2017, Disney Store celebrated their 30th anniversary. On 28th March, 2017 Disney Store could celebrate their anniversary as they started back in 1987. From the end of January you could buy a special pin set to celebrate their anniversary. Each week after then, in 10 weeks you could collect a pin based on a Disney, Pixar or Marvel movie from 1988 to 2017. The pin set included three different pins representing a character or an icon from a movie. An exclusive pin with Jiminy Cricket was released too during the celebration, but the pin was only a part of purchasing a backpack.
The pins was released worldwide either online or in the store. The release date in America and Europe was different. Europe released the pin sets earlier than America

Disney Store released a new collection of pins starting with a tin case based on Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi. The case was released on 27th October, 2017. The case includes a starter pin and a marked place to 6 other Star Wars pins. This was similar to the case with The Force Awakens in 2015.

The first pin in the series of The Last Jedi pins to the tin case was Rey. The pin comes in a box along with a lithograph. Released on 31st October, 2017 and priced £15

The second pin in the series was Kylo Ren. The pin comes in a box along with a lithograph. Released on 7th November, 2017 and priced £15

Luke Skywalker pin with lithograph. Released on 10th November and priced £15

Preatorian Guard pin with lithograph. Released on 14th November and priced £15

Many of the pins were not advertised, so you had to check Disney Store's website daily to find out any news.

Images: the images were taken as a screenshot or just copied as an image from the websites**

*If you purchased one of them you would get the other. This was probably only in case in some countries (?)
**Many of the images shown were taken as a screenshot then edited to the final image you see above. There have not been any drawings or any other things added to the image, just cropped some of the images so they were smaller and only focusing on the pin. Some of the images was just copied from the banner on the website with no editing at all. No fake images or homemade images are shown.
