Besides having acted in the series "La rosa de Guadalupe", Sebastian Athié was best known for playing Lorenzo Guevara, one of the main characters, in the Argentinian Disney Channel/Disney XD series O11CE, also known as Disney 11 in other countries. The series ran from 2017 to 2019 with 3 seasons and 220 episodes.
The National Association of Actors of Mexico confirmed the death of Athié. According to his manager, Christina Chaparro, the death happened after suffering a heart attack during an outdoor training in the evening of Saturday 4th July. The manager told that Athié had been in "excellent health."
From Sunday 5th July, his co-workers on the Disney series have made posts on their social media, including Mariano Gonzáles (Gabo), Santiago Stieben (Vitto), and Paulina Vetrano (Zoe). Disney Channel Latin America also posted about the sad news on their social media.
According to local media reports, Athié had participated in a Zoom video call with fans on Friday 3rd July, only one day before his death.
What is more worse is that Athié died on the 4th July, only 2 days before the 6th July, the day Disney star Cameron Boyce died in 2019, who was acting on Disney Channel, Disney XD, and Disney Junior.
Sebastian Athié will always be remembered for his amazing acting in O11CE. We´ll miss you.
