New Details on Pixar's Animated Movie "Onward"

New animated movie coming in 2020.

Pixar has officially revealed yesterday that a new animated movie will be released in 2020. The movie will be called "Onward" and released on 6th March 2020 in the United States. The movie was first revealed on the D23 Expo in 2017.

The plot will focus on "two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there". It will be directed by Dan Scanlon (Monsters University) and produced by Kori Rae. Dan said that Onward was inspired by his own relationship with his brother.

The first voice actors for the movie are revealed to be Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer.

Since Disney loves to use actors they're familiar with, the cast of these 4 actors make sense. Chris Pratt and Tom Holland have both two big roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Chris plays Star-Lord and leads the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, and Tom plays Peter Parker in the Spider-Man franchise that Disney and Marvel are working on with Sony. Julia has earlier voiced Princess Atta in Pixar's 1998 A Bug's Life and Rochelle in Disney's Planes, while Octavia has a minor role in Disney's Zootopia as Mrs Otterton.

"According to the filmmakers, they've assembled a dream voice cast to help bring key characters to life. Rae said: "Chris brings equal parts huge heart and fantastic humor to his character."

"Tom has an infectious charm and sincerity that makes you root for him in every character he plays," added Scanlon. He also noted that there is "no one funnier than Julia, but she also brings a warmth and loving side to her character."

"Octavia can do it all," said Rae. "We're especially excited about the depth as well as humor that she brings to her character." - ComingSoon.net
