Executive producer Erin Dunlap will return as showrunner for Season 5. Dunlap teamed with executive producer Phil Baker on Season 4, but Baker will focus on other stuff for Disney Channel.

"Bunk'd has long been a strong ratings driver for Disney Channel, with funny, relatable characters and storylines that continue to resonate with kids everywhere," said Kory Lunsford, vice president, Current Series, Disney Channels Worldwide,We're very excited to embark on a fifth season with Erin and the talented young cast as they head off for another summer at Camp Kikiwaka. We also look forward to continuing our relationship with Phil, who brought us the blockbuster series Good Luck, Charlie, as he works on developing new and exciting projects." - Deadline.com

Production will begin in the Fall 2020 so the season will premiere sometime in 2021.

According to Deadline, Miranda May (Lou), Mallory James Honey (Destiny), Raphael Alejandro (Matteo), Will Buie Jr. (Finn), Shelby Simmons (Ava), and Israel Johnson (Noah) will all return to Season 5. Unfortunately, it seems that Scarlett Estevez, who plays Gwen, will leave the show after Season 4. If you have watched the episode "Hot Spring Friend Machine", Gwen learns her parents is sending her to school after the summer so probably something is happening there.

The "Jessie" franchise is now the second biggest Disney Channel franchise, expanded over two series and nine seasons, just behind the "That's So Raven" franchise with three series and ten seasons.

Bunk'd is also the first spin-off series to have new episodes without the original main cast from the previous series with Peyton List (Emma), Skai Jackson (Zuri), and Karan Brar (Ravi) leaving after Season 3.
