The Original Stan from Dog With A Blog is Dead

Kuma was 16 years old.

Kuma was chosen out of thousands of dogs to play the talking dog Stan in Disney Channel's Dog With A Blog.

Sarah Clifford, the owner of Kuma, took him from the show because of some conflicts between her and another animal trainer. Kuma portrayed Stan in the series for 4 episodes, with the last one being "Wingstan" before he was replaced by Mick.

After Dog With A Blog, Kuma went on to make 74 episodes of Nick Jr's show Mutt & Stuff.

"Clifford said Kuma has received fan mail on the performances, and spent his non-showbiz time as a shelter dog ambassador, charity event guest, and frequent traveler. He knew 75 trained behaviors." - Deadline

Kuma was born on 15th December 2001 in Los Angeles as Kuma Von Clifford. He was rescued from a shelter in South Los Angeles by Sarah Clifford. He began his career in 2005 with the TV movie McBride: The Chameleon Murder.

"I was both Kuma's trainer and his owner," said Clifford in an email. "Losing Kuma is the hardest thing I have ever gone through. He was my best friend and the smartest dog I have ever known in my 40 years of life. When the time came to say my final goodbye, I fed him his favorite foods, chicken and watermelon, which he ate with vigor until the very end." - Deadline

Kuma was 16 years old. According to the Dog With A Blog Wikia, Kuma died on 21st November.
