Change of shopDisney Europe in December 2020

On 2nd December 2020, shopDisney in Europe had a minor change.

In January 2021, the United Kingdom will leave the European Union (EU). This will have a huge effect on the e-commerce. All countries within EU has to pay VAT and customs duty (depending on the amount) if they are purchasing items online from a non-EU country, such as the United States or China. This will now happen to the United Kingdom, too.

To ensure that countries in EU don't need to pay those expenses, countries that normally used Disney's British shopDisney are no longer able to buy from that webshop. The German, French and Spanish webshops are still available, but on 2nd December Disney launched shopDisney.eu.

When you enter 'shopDisney.co.uk', 'shopDisney.de', 'shopDisney.fr' or 'shopDisney.es', you will be redirected to a welcome site from 'shopDisney.eu'. Here you are able to choose the country you're living in. If you live within one of the countries that used 'shopDisney.co.uk' you will now have to make a purchase on 'shopDisney.eu'.

There is no big difference on the webshops, aside the European site has its currency in euro (€) and not in pound sterling (£).
