Playmobil will soon be releasing their very first Disney set, but it is not based on the property you might think.
The year 2021 will be marking the very first time Playmobil is releasing a Disney set, although they have had some kind of co-operation years ago. A French-German series called 'Super 4', based on the Playmobil toys, were produced and released in 2014. Among the channels the series aired on, Disney Channel was one of them.
With The Walt Disney Company having purchased 21st Century Fox back in March 2019, Disney received a huge library of content. One of the movie titles Disney received was 'The A-Team' from 2010, which is based on a TV series of the same name by Universal.
Revealed in the German second half-year product catalogue, Playmobil will be releasing the van from the 'The A-Team' movie. It will retail for 79,99 € and be released later in 2021.
While the set could be based on the TV series, this is not the case as 20th Century Studios is credited in the catalogue - and will be on the box. Before Disney purchased 21st Century Fox, the studio was known as 20th Century Fox until 2020 to avoid confusing with Fox Corporation.
