New Line of Hot Wheels Cars Based on Disney and Pixar Movies to Be Released


Disney and Mattel will release a new line of Hot Wheels cars later in 2018 based on Disney's and Pixar's movies.


Disney and Mattel have announced a new partnership to create cars based on the animated Disney and Pixar movies in an all-new way.

The new partnership between the two companies will see classic animated character to receive their own Hot Wheels car. The launch lineup features Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Elsa (Frozen), Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), Mike Wazowski (Monsters, Inc.) and Jack Skellington (The Nightmare Before Christmas).

The partnership will expand Hot Wheels' relationsship with Disney like the Star Wars, Marvel and Muppets character cars.

"When creating a Hot Wheels Character Car, we carefully consider how to merge elements of real-life vehicles with those of fictional characters to bring the car to life in creative and fun ways that we know will appeal to kids and collectors alike," added Hot Wheels design manager Bryan Benedict. "With the new Mickey Mouse car from our Disney Character Car line, Mickey has an iconic look that our team reimagined as the quintessential sports car, with a heavy circular theme carried throughout the entire vehicle's design, reflective of his famous ears." - THR

The first Hot Wheels cars will be released later in 2018. Below are images of concept arts for some of the cars.
