Club Penguin Franchise to End in 2018

Let's play 'till the end.

The Club Penguin franchise began in 2005 when the original game arrived. The game was purchased by Disney in August 2007. In 2014, The Club Penguin Team began to think about other projects for the Club Penguin franchise. In 2015, a codename was used to describe a new project, Project: Super Secret (PSS).

In November 2016, the PSS was revealed to be a new online game based on the Club Penguin franchise: Club Penguin Island. It was later announced that the game would be available worldwide for downloads on 29th March 2017. On 30th January 2017, The Club Penguin Team announced that Club Penguin Island would replace Club Penguin, and the game would close on 30th March 2017.

But. On 27th September 2018, The Club Penguin Team reported via a blog post on their website that Club Penguin Island will shut down at the end of 2018. Contemporary with this news, they told that there will be more information coming in the next months.

The Club Penguin franchise can in October celebrate its 13th anniversary.

You can view the full announcement here.

Stay tuned to this blog for more information about the closure of the game.

Waddle on, penguin friends!
