On 27th September, the Club Penguin Team announced on their blog that Club Penguin Island will be shutting down at the end of 2018.
On 14th October the Club Penguin Team had more details about the ending. The official date for the game to shut down has been revealed to be on 20th December 2018.
They also revealed that they're planning a Halloween party for October but it will not be like the Medieval Party earlier. But there will be Mod Meet-ups instead.
After the ending of the Halloween Party, Club Penguin Island will be kicking off a big celebration of a new party from 5th November and until the end. The party is called "Waddle On Party". The party will contain the story of Club Penguin Island and there will be some surprises.
From the Waddle On Party starts in November, everyone will be getting a free membership and a huge amount of Coins. Later in the month, players will receive a refund for any time remaining on their membership after 5th November.
