BRIO Releases New Disney Products

The Swedish wooden toy company, BRIO, releases new Disney products this fall.

If the products already haven't shown up in your country, a line of six new Disney products from BRIO will turn up soon, featuring small figures of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy.

The new line of products, Mickey and Friends, is not the first Disney products from BRIO although it happens infrequently. The previous line of railway sets were inspired by the Playhouse Disney series 'My Friends Tigger and Pooh' and 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse', while the new sets are only accessories to the existing railway sets.

If you look closely at the sets you might find Disney references, so the figures are not the only Disney things in the sets.

In the set with Donald and Daisy, the train is blue like Donald's shirt, and it bears the number '34' which could refer to 1934, the year Donald Duck was first seen in the short film, The Wise Little Hen. The set with Mickey, the train is red like Mickey's pants and bears the number '28', which also could refer to the short film Steamboat Willie where Mickey first appeared in 1928. The last set features Mickey silhouettes on the roof. This train bears the number '23' that could refer to 1923, the year The Walt Disney Company was founded.

The prices are unknown yet, and the date is right now just confirmed to be in the fall of 2020.
