Star Wars Holiday Special in LEGO Style to Premiere on Disney+

A brand new Star Wars holiday special is coming soon, this time premiering exclusively on Disney+.

"Star Wars Holiday Special" is a familiar sentence for many Star Wars fans, but it is not something you associate with good things if you ask the people who have watched it, probably the word "disaster" is more appropriate when it was released in 1978*. But on the bright side, the special gave us the information of an event called "Life Day", taking place on 17th November on the Wookiee's planet, Kashyyyk. The day replaces Christmas.

On 17th November, 2020, a 45-minute LEGO version is premiering on Disney+. The special takes place after the events of The Rise of Skywalker and reunites Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewbacca, Rose, and some familiar droids. A few of the actors will reprise their roles.

While her friends are preparing for Life Day, Rey visits a mysterious Jedi temple with BB-8 to gain deeper acknowledge of the Force. Here they come across the history of the Skywalker saga, interacting with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and other iconic heroes and villains. But will she make it back in time for the Life Day feast and learn the true meaning of holiday spirit?

Ken Cunningham serves as the director and it is written and co-executive produced by David Shayne. James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jason Cosler, Jacqui Lopez, Jill Wilfert, and Keith Malone are executive producers. The special is a production of Atomic Cartoons, The LEGO Group, and Lucasfilm Ltd.

Some merchandise have also been produced to coincide with the release of the special, including this year's LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar and a sticker book.

*I have never watched the special myself, so this is just what I have read about it.
